An established German manufacturer of special equipment for food processing industries was looking for a solution to improve an existing trolley washing plant for hospitals. In a grand hospital the trolley washing plant was supposed to be improved to that effect, that the catering trolleys, which are cleaned by the plant, shall afore be inspected optically. Purpose of the inspection is to detect eventually left objects in the trolley. There was already a solution for this problem, but unfortunately this was very accident-sensitive. KeySysTech has reengineered the system, selected less accident-sensitive hardware and developed a stable software. The system is based upon light-section technique. A laser line is projected into the trolley, this line is observed by a camera. In case there is an object in the trolley, the look of the line changes, which can be detected by the camera. Since the end of March 2006 the washing plant is running again failure-free. |
